I paid out of my own pocket. It was worth it. (Perhaps the folks there can gain and throw around some political weight.) Medicare doesn't pay. But most insurance companies pay all or a portion and the finance people work hard to negotiate with companies, families and others to allow people to finish off the last few days. Their organization of and execution of complicated group and individual treatment plans daily and across 28 days is a wonder. The staff is patient, well trained, disciplined and they like the work. A model for organizations of any kind. I'd give 'em a 6 star if the food budget were bigger - the cooks are especially skilled to the utmost and they pull of some great dishes with what they have. My hat is off. I was treated like a king. If you need help, don't scrimp to out-guess your health and life - GO.

I’m writing my review from my perspective as an employee and as an alumni of the program. I found recovery at age 20 in 2003. My experience as a patient at Ashley was exceptional in a variety of ways. The facility and environment of care is second to none. The campus is set up like a college campus and is secluded and private and the proximity to the bay makes for stunning views. It’s hard to pinpoint that “it factor” but Ashley is a place with a soul. The staff is dedicated, passionate, and empathetic. I didn’t know the severity of scope of my substance use problem but I got the education I needed and was given the tools to get and stay comfortably sober. My parents and sister participated in the Family Wellness Program and they got the education and support they needed. I’ve worked at Ashley for nine years and in various roles. My dedication to Ashley is based on two things - my and my family’s indebtedness to Ashley and my firm belief that Ashley is among the top programs in the world to start your recovery journey.

There are NO WORDS to describe the level of care, compassion, and selflessness and support that I experienced from the ENTIRE staff here at Ashley. From the Nursing staff, the Clinical Aides, Counselors, Cooks.. Housekeepers, Groundskeepers and daily Guest Speakers.. Being surrounded by an enormous group of people that TRULY & GENUINLY care about your health, well being, and recovery. It was a lifetime experience.. That I will NEVER forget. Place is the best of the best.

Ashley is a wonderful place to work. Every day we have the beautiful opportunity to guide patients on their path to recovery. Every day my faith in our mission is renewed. Whether it's seeing a counselor go above and beyond to meet a patient's needs, or seeing a member of the dietary staff remembering each patient's name. Ashley is truly a place of healing and recovery.

4 years ago this month I arrived at Ashley as a former shell of the man I had been years before. I brought the willingness to change and Ashley showed me the way. They supply the tools. It’s up to the patient to apply them. Really miss the morning meditation in the chapel.

Ashley Addiction Treatment not only has a beautiful setup, it also has well developed programs that are formulated to target different directions for treatment that fit to each individual. Working with Ashley as a referral source has made it possible to place individuals who are in the depths of addiction into a safe and warm atmosphere. The caring staff puts their best foot forward to reach out and help as many people as they can. Always a pleasant experience !

I have been an Ashley employee for 3 years and have had the ability to visit many other facilities that treat alcohol and substance use disorder. Consistently, Ashley is the gold standard of the industry. Ashley strives to be the best and the results show. It is a beautiful place with an impeccable campus. Even more attention is paid to the details behind the scenes. Nothing is overlooked from clinical care to overall patient experience. I am fortunate to work at such a wonderful place and be part of such an important mission.

I got to visit the Ashley campus last week and I am still glowing from the experience. The campus is absolutely beautiful, and right on the water. The staff are so passionate about what they do, and I noticed many of them shared that they went through the program themselves. The attention to detail and how well they take care of their spaces is evident. I would have no hesitation to refer a loved one to Ashley.

Full disclosure, I work at Ashley and feel compelled to make sure everyone knows what a "special" place Ashley is. Ashley is not just the finest campus on the East Coast, it is comprised with the most dedicated and caring staff I have ever been associated with. There is not a single employee who would not take a call on their day off, or middle of the night to help another alcoholic or addict stay sober and recover. Ashley is a highly ethical organization being a not-for-profit and really gives back to the community. I could write at length about how amazing Ashley is but I don't need to, our wonderful alumni already do that. Come visit for yourself and see the miracle of recovery first hand.

I've had the pleasure of seeing mini treatment centers throughout the United States and I cannot believe the beauty at Ashley addiction treatment. When I walked through the campus I was struck by not only the Heritage but also the modern features the staff is impeccable the patients are so well cared for and the food is delicious. I was able to meet with most of the staff and get a real idea of what happens when somebody is in treatment at Ashley while I was there they had a family wellness program and I love seeing the young people and learning about their Extended Care Program. One of the cool things that happened is they had a fire drill while I happen to be on the campus and it was amazing to see not only house staff pull together but how patients put together and how the staff took care of patients. They have a cute gift shop and I liked most of the things in there I did think some of the things were a little expensive but hey if you're going to be out in the middle of nowhere and you forget a jacket I mean why not buy one with their logo on it right. I'm not Catholic but I was able to attend Mass while I was there it's so interesting to see how many of the patients from many different denominations go to the chapel every morning to experience what spirituality happens not just from the service but from the views what a beautiful Temple I would think every little girl would love to be married in a chapel like that. I was also really impressed with the size of the beds most of the time when you go to a facility that has rooms they have single beds even if the single beds are large enough for a big person to fit in but all of these beds were either double maybe even queens and I am one of those freaks that had to touch the sheets and they were very comfortable and everything looked very well clean and in order. The fireplaces weren't working but you could see them and really get a sense of the Heritage I loved walking from building to building and how often I could see from the path that I was walking on how many gazebos that they have throughout their campus for people to go walk under just to look at the Cheseapeake Bay. I'll close with saying that I have seen sunrises in Aruba I've seen sunrises in Germany have seen sunrises all over the United States but seeing the sunrise over the Chesapeake Bay the colors were absolutely outstanding and right where you stand right where the treatment centers you can look at and see two tiny islands and it's just breathtaking I think anybody who works there or is fortunate enough to be able to go there for treatment will just really enjoy the experience.

They were kind and compassionate with my son, but firm. They worked very hard to find him appropriate aftercare. I am very grateful.

I came for Family Wellness Weekend for my soulmate Jonathan Witherow last weekend. As a recovering addict myself, this past weekend taught me more than my treatment center EVER did, especially when it comes to family. Even though Johnny had not been drinking everyday again yet, they caught him just in time. I see this sense of peace and serenity I have never seen in Johnny before, it's amazing. It's like they are giving me my soulmate back, but even 100 times better than ever before. We have a little girl Lacy coming in January, and this place is giving us an amazing start again. The staff, the counselors, even the priest at the non-denominational church was amazing. I went to Church on Sunday, and the sunrises over the river and it's just gorgeous, you can just feel God right then and there in your presence. All in all, Johnny wants this and is putting his all into this because we both know from being in addiction, that there is no better life than life in recovery. It's a hard, wonderful, crazy, beautiful ride, you just never have to give up!

Ashley is a wonderful place to heal, learn, reflect and grow. The addiction programs give you the tools to learn how to lead a healthy life in recovery. More importantly, the programs give you hope. The counselors and staff are caring and passionate about wellness and recovery for their patients. Ashley provides a holistic approach that is tailored to the individual. The campus is a beautiful, serene place for spiritual healing and renewal.

Ashley saved my life without a doubt. I will be forever grateful. Ashley also has a great network of grateful grads who are incredibly helpful in maintaining recovery post graduation.

Ashley was the turning point in my life. I had tried everything to stop drinking and failed. I had no idea how to begin a journey of sobriety. My inpatient stay at Ashley gave me the treatment I needed and a foundation upon which I have built a healthy, productive and rich life. I have returned often as a visitor and "friend" and know that Ashley continues to provide state of the art treatment and excellent care and education for those suffering from addiction. I recommend it highly.

Saved my life...food was fabulous gained 20lbs.

The facility is top notch along with the the excellent food but the best part about Ashley is the staff. From the house keepers and techs to the councillors and nurses everyone there is friendly and professional. And once you've completed the program, you stay connected to the community with all their aftercare services and events. But I've discovered that all the help in the world won't matter if the client (you) are not ready to make the significant changes necessary to be successful in recovery. I want to wish you the best and to remind you that a better life is attainable to those willing to work for it and remember, you're not alone in this process.

Ashley saved my loved ones life and I learned a great deal about the disease of addiction! It is so nice that they educate the family on the disease and that most times it was the disease that created all the issues not the patient. The patient has an initial choose to use again after a relapse and once they pick up again the disease does not allow them to stop. I am so grateful to have my loved one back clean and sober. I am also grateful for everything I learned at Ashley's Family Wellness. I love Father Martin's chalk talks and the lectures from Brenda Carroll.

Highly recommended if serious about recovery. Just got my 6 month chip on May 24th. Went into FMA on thanksgiving of last year for the second time and it saved my life. Ganon and Mike are both very professional PSA's who treat you well and Pat was a tremendous and helpful counselor. Chalk talks get repetitive but there is a lot of wisdom and advice in Father Martins words. Food is amazing. - Chris 25 years old.

Ashley was a place that treated everyone with the dignity we deserved. The grounds are stunning. They have a spiritual feeling just being there. The treatment received was the best. And, as a bonus, the food is great!!

Thanks to your program I now have my daughter back. It's a beautiful campus and the staff were wonderful, family wellness weekend was amazing I think all treatment facilities need something like this, I learned so much and we communicated so much better with each other after that weekend.

Absolutely a step above other rehabs I had been to. It's a wonderful program, it's a beautiful campus and the staff is well put together. Their medical staff was friendly, food was awesome, their overall program is well put together. Even balance of counselling, groups, 12 step meetings, and they offer yoga and arts and crafts... You get what you pay for, it's a little pricey but you can't put a dollar sign on a human life you know...

In the eighties I spent a healing month here with Father Martin , Mae and the amazing staff. After a few bumps in the road I am sober today by the grace of God.
